Hi, I'm Fazila Cariem. Aka Spaz if you know me from my high school era, Faz if you know me from my articles or Engen era, and Zee from my current corporate era. I write to detox my emotions on various topics. I have self published a book, loosely based on my upbringing.

My Story

These days if I'm not moering my body at the gym, I'm writing passive aggressive emails  and  working on a novel about a gaatchie and a taxi driver trying to save Cape Town from an apocalyptic fate.

Mostly, my ideas come to me randomly when I attend work meetings or doing the laundry. I write whenever or wherever I can find the space, which for a full time working mom of two is literally never. But to balance my life with artful expression that the Word Smith's forces me to create, I make the space. Even if that space is sitting in my car in the parking lot and writing in a feverish haze.
